About Us

International Medical Communications (IMC) creates ways to close the gaps which occur when people need to share information or ideas, but are unable to communicate. IMC products provide a means of communication for health care, law enforcement, emergency services, and entertainment industry personnel in situations where an interpreter is not immediately available, or someone is unable to speak because of a physical limitation.

Bilingual International (BLx)Cards

Language and cultural barriers that lead to miscommunication and misunderstanding can occur in a variety of settings. The BLx PointCard Series from International Medical Communications is a tool to help bridge this communication gap. Bilingual International (BLx) Cards were created by a physician and a nurse to help colleagues who were having trouble communicating in the hospital because of language barriers. Sometimes the ideas that need to be communicated are simple and quick, and obtaining an interpreter takes time. In order to provide assistance and reassurance immediately, the BLx Card was developed. Common key phrases for various situations are shown side by side in various language pairs, as well as visual aids to allow questions and answers. It saves valuable time when interpreter resources are not immediately available, and allows basic communication to ease difficult situations.
